Like the Snake, we transform with each and every decision we make. The serpent sheds old skin for new, teaching you to be bold and embrace the changes that will transform you into exactly who you wish to be. Learning the serpent’s way of transmutation, we can turn negative into positive. When you reinvent yourself, a beautiful destiny will follow.
Each piece gets a certain level of care and workmanship. I truly strive to design and create pieces that will last and be timeless. The Snake Ring is a cool piece and I already have plans for this design to add to other pieces I am working on to really come up with truly unique pieces. If you are interested in getting a piece made even if you don’t see it on our sites.
We can design anything to fit your needs
Each wax design get attached to a rubber base. Once this is completed we spray the molds with a solution that keeps bubbles from sticking to the wax during the investment and burnout stage. This step is very important. If you do not make sure the wax stay clean of bubbles then once you cast you will get pits on your piece.
After we cast the piece attached to the ring must be cut off so we can start the clean up of piece.
I scrub each piece once cast and run in the ultrasonic cleaner for a few minute. Notice no white residue or investment powder left in piece. Ready for first stage of buffing.
I run each piece thru a 30 ply buff wheel with a white buffing compound. Carefully!! This unit has lots of horse power. When using the stiff 30 ply buff wheel you just want to run it thru just enough to bring color to surface. Running it thru to many times you will loose detail. Let the buffing compound do the work! Once completed I clean with toothbrush and soap and a few minutes in Ultrasonic cleaner. Then I go back to buffing station and run thru my final polish with cotton wheel and red rouge. This gives the ring lots of luster and feels so smooth.
Camera is hard to focus close enough to see the small stones. These 2 stones were a little tough to set. The right eye is close to the body that wraps. So I decided to hand set in 2 places to hold stone in then I got the flex shaft with hammer attachment and set the stones in using that. This piece is like a mini jack hammer. It just moves back and forth and moves the metal in place. I love this tool. Its amazing how well it moves moves metal around. The eyes look really good. I was able to move metal around the eye socket area and really give the head a realistic look.
Polishing the inside of the ring.
Miss Beth I guess found the camera. She is never around when I am casting. I always have to cast by myself. To much to explain now. But that is tricky. Having to open the oven door, grab the flask, while the torch is running, close the oven door all while keeping the heat on the metal so it doesn’t get to cool. move the flask to the vacuum.. its tricky. But I am happy she at least got some photos. I am always more concentrated on just getting the work done.
