On the morning of July 2, 1863, when 262 young men from Minnesota, members of the First Minnesota Volunteer Regiment, were ordered to hold Cemetery Ridge, against an attacking force of 1500 Rebel troops. By holding the ridge line against those impossible odds, the 262 brave Minnesotans not only turned the tide of the Battle of Gettysburg, but the victory at Gettysburg changed the course of the whole Civil War. At sunset that evening, only 47 men were left to stand roll call, out of the 262 who had entered into battle that morning. The government of the United States honored the courage of those 47 young men, by naming Minnesota's Viking Division the 47th Infantry Division.
On April 29, 1945, a regiment of the 47th Infantry Division, received orders to liberate Munich. The next morning, they set out by jeep from where the Stuttgart Autobahn passes Munich today and kept going until they hit the center of town. That day the regiment freed 14,000 Allied prisoners. Another regiment of the 47th Infantry liberated the Dachau Concentration camp.
On 15 December 1950 the Army ordered the 47th Infantry Division, the best manned of the nation's 27 Guard divisions with 12,000 soldiers, to active duty by 16 January 1951. The 47th Infantry Division became a training divisions. The principal Army unit operating at Rucker during the Korean conflict was the 47th Infantry Division, which trained replacement troops for combat in Korea. The post again became inactive in June 1954, after the Korean conflict ended.
ANYONE KNOWING ABOUT RESTORATIONS KNOWS THAT WHEN THE DIAL 24HR MARKS ARE WORN, AND THE RILROAD STYLE NUMBERS WORN, THAT WE RESTORE THEM. GSW USES SCREENS THAT INSURE- ASSURES PERFECT PLACEMENT AND LOK.
WHEN PLACING THEM ON A DIAL THAT DID NOT HAVE THEM ORIGINALLY,
LIKE 13 TO 24 MIL TIME IN RED OR BLACK, OR.. WE MATCH THE WORK TO THAT WHICH IS ON
THE BRAND. IN OTHER WORDS, 2/3 OF US ORD MILITARY ARE NOT 24HR MIL IMPRINTED, NUT,
1/4 OF THESE HAD 24 HR MIL TIME. SO, WE HAVE SCREENS FOR PLACING ORIGINAL FIONT AND SIZE
FOR OUR OFFER OR PATRON.
SOME PORCELAINE DIALS ON POCKETS WERE PLACE WITH ENAEL AND FIRED WHEN DIAL WAS BUILT. THUS 75% OF THESE EMBEDDED STAY PRETTY NICE. BUT, THERE ARE MORE THAT WERE PAINTED ON. ESPECIALLY WW1 THROUGH 1940'S. THIS DIAL WAS LIKE YOU SEE IT. MOST NUMBERS ARE PAINTED. SO THEYCAN BE REPAINTED AND RELUMED AND/OR 24HR TIME PAINTED. PROFESSIONALLY. BUT SOME, LIKE THIS BEAUTY WHICH IS PROVIDING THE HONOR OF THE 47TH, WAS ACCOMPLISHED BY A PERSONA WHO WASNOTA PRO. MORE REASON TO KEEOP AS IS.
WE COULD CLEAN HER UP AND RESTORE BUT THEPIECE IS JUST TO AWESOME. YOU CAN SEE THE BLEED ON THE DIAL. ROCK CLEANED HER BUT USED A SMALL 4 MM ROUND "SPONGE" ON A STAKE TO CLEAN WHILE NOT RERMOVING THE BLEEB.
BUT HE DID PLACE DIAL DOTS, THAT IS MOUNDS OF AF LUMINOVA INTO DOTS. YOU CAN VIEW NICELY. WORKS GREAT. ESPEIALLY WEARING TO A DARLK RESTUARANT.
.BUT DUE TO THE FACT IS IS AN ORIGINAL DIAL AND THE CONTEXT OF RESTORING AND OVERHAULING THE MOVEMENT AND THEN BUILDING A STRAP AND PLACING OBJECTS OF HISTORY FOR DETAIL, ROCK THE CASE AND DIAL IN IT WAS . IN FACT TWO WATCHES WENT INTO THIS ONE. BOTH IDENTICAL AS FAR AS MOVEMENT, AGES AND CASE. EXCEPT THIS CASE IS A MILITARY STYLE VS THE GOLD FILLED STORE TYPE. AND, THIS CASE HAD BEEN CUSTOMIZED FOR STRAP USE, CONVERTED.
THERE ARE SEVERAL CONVERSIONS.
THE WATCH IS ADJUSTABLE, HIGH LOW FRONT BACK. ITS AWESOME. ROCK WORE IT TO HIS VA APPOINTMENT [ 5/21/2015] TODAY. HE WAS STOPPED 20 TIMES AS VETS DOCTORS NURSES ETC ASKED TO SEE IT UP CLOSE. HE FINALLY LEFT ONE BUCKLE LOOSE SO HE DID NOT HAVE OPEN TWO..BUT HE LOVED IT,...BTW: THIS IS 1/8 STOCK PRIME LEATHER. AWESOME FITS UP TO 9

RE-ILLUMINATED HANDS ARE ORIGINAL.

"GOLDSMITHWORKS CONVERSIONS TRENCHES CUFF"
